Moon Bath at Du Khiem Pavilion

Emperor Tu Duc’s Tomb was constructed in the mid 19h century and became the most impressive among the royal mausoleums of Hue. Tu Duc used this place also as its residence during his lifetime.

With ponds, temples, and pavilions, the mausoleum is considered as a masterpiece of Vietnamese gardens, showing the spiritual and symbolic values attached to landscape. Xung Khiem and Du Khiem pavilions are unique and rare structures to be built on the water, devoted to dance, singing and poetry.

This photo gives a subjective view on moonlight to convey the transient beauty of this aquatic garden as if painted in traditional black ink.
